I, like everyone else was filled with rage when I first saw the video, but in fairness, after some thinking, I can understand why the guy did what he did.
Any Filipino motorist will admit that they've felt like doing the same thing to other drivers/jeepney drivers/MMDA officers at some point during their driving around the metro.
I've personally experienced having an MMDA a$$hole punch my car and yell "Hoy P***** ina mo!" at me, but in my case i just kept on driving and didn't let it affect me. (Another friend once had a rock thrown at his car by an MMDA dude)
Road rage is NOT an excuse for anything. People have to keep their tempers in check before they act.
Let this be a wake-up call to all the potential Rolito Gos, Jason Ivlers and Blair Carabuenas out there to think before they act.

I agree with Doc.
Initially I was also angry but I didn't want to be part of the internet mob that is going around. There is always 2 sides to this, though I could not find the exact reasons behind my doubt. Doc Sluman's post sums it up for me.

Would this even be in the news if the victim or the perp came from an even more "humble" background? In Rolito Go's incident, Eldon Maguan came from a well to do family, hence the former could not make "areglo".
This meltdown/road rage I can compare somewhat with the "Chick fil A" controversy in the USA. The owner of the fast food joint espouses a more conservative view on "gay marriage" and is a big donor in blocking such efforts (legalizing such unions). Then comes an Executive (well now ex employee) of Vante, a multinational company iirc, Adam Smith who intentional berates a lowly drive thru employee of Chick Fil A concerning the joint's owners' politics and uploads it. Well Vante promptly fired him.
The difference, well Smith (who emphasized he isn't gay) "intentionally" sought attention while this issue had TV5 filming it. You really get to see the true personalities of peoples under such unguarded moments when the facade of civility melts.
Multinational companies have certain standards to maintain. The saying that publicity is good so long as you get the name right no longer holds true. Publicity that puts a company in such a bad light hurts the "stock holders" so expect this guy to get a pink slip within the week.

the internet mob. generally a bunch of idiots hehe
What the guy did is a clear jerkass move, but the cyberbullying is tantamount to kicking the man when he's down. Freakin' hypocrites. Anonymity, the internet and self-righteousness makes an ugly combination.

Cyber bullies come in many forms. But the most wacked out are those that actually create a I hate facebook page against (fill in the blank). Too much free time in their hands and of course, the anonymity of the internet really encourages such wackos!

i noticed the company name was removed in the news article, and now just mentiones tobacco firm..
I'm not surprised. Probably slapped them with the threat of a lawsuit. I wouldn't want my name associated with the stuff that happens on the Internet when you get its back up.
Me, I'm still endlessly entertained by Sotto's flub with his RH speeches. I love how all his arguments are all falling apart now that its being scrutinized. I mean if you're passionate about a certain position, take the time to learn about it!

in this age of social media.. nothing can really escape now.. i feel sorry with what this guy (carabuena) is experiencing now.. hell over social networks.. too bad for him even if he blocked/deactivated his fb/twitter accounts he forgot his instagram.. pity him but road rage is a no no in when driving you always are at the losing end.. cause you did not control yourself.. just like sotto as well.. mistake from him as well.. lashing out at bloggers as "bloggers lang yun (they are just bloggers)".. now all the social netizens are really blasting him as a copycat.. if you see the comparison of the blog and speech its direct plaigiarism..

You have to have lot of patience driving in our country, otherwise you will suffer from road rage every single day. Rude motorists, traffic enforcers and even policemen who flag you down for no apparent reason, pot holes, traffic congestion, ad nauseaum
Forget Star Circle. Forget Starstruck. Forget Artista Academy.
Road rage is the new road to stardom!!! hahahaha
^^ forgive and forget this guy already please..
its tito sottos' turn.. i guess strike 2 for him.. his second speech is again copied or whatever he calls it to 3 blog sites again.. what a crap.. this cyber age really makes research fast that it can really make you a genius or a fool.. according to his lawyer or whatever you call him, blogs are copyright free? because its a "public domain"? what? and there is no law regarding ip of blogs? so its not plaigiarism..

The ones who made Facebook fan pages are nothing since it's easy to make those. The ones who seem to have dedicated their lives in petitioning Philip Morris to fire this guy are the no-lifers. What are they getting off on making this guy's life more miserable than it already is?
There are so many things wrong with the Philippines and its better if these people put their energies on something more relevant than kicking someone who is down. The outrage bandwagon is pathetic. Yes he's a jerk, yes what he did is wrong and he deserves to be punished, but this "cyber-usyoso" is ridiculous.
