I meant ANY paint. :)

Depends on what kind/how strong the paint bonds. Try the stuff I listed down. For the paint thinner, be sure to use thinner specifically for models/toys. Don't use industrial strength thinner nor acetone (the one for nailpolish) - those will melt the plastic.

In the basecoat part. Do we need to basecoat, as in E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G that you want to repaint?

And when you repaint, does the value of your toy lowers?

Err.. yes.

It depends. If you do a great job, then the figure should be more valuable as a piece of art. If you do a horrible job, no one will ever even think of buying it from you.

guys can anyone help me. i have a problem with my bust. i noticed that the paint became brittle and it easily chips off, i worry that in the long run this might get worse and the brittle paints would spread and ruin the statue.. :( (waaah. every collectors nightmare.. :-X) anyways, is there like some kind of adhesive or clear paint wherein i can apply to protect the bust without compromising the original paint? ;) guys i'm really getting desperate.. a simple help will really be greatly apreciated.. thanks bros! Yep, you can use clear coat to help protect the paintjob. I recommend Pledge Wipe n' Shine. Read more in this thread.

Clear spray paint (bosny, RJ london, etc.) is the same, but since it comes in a spraycan it is very difficult to get a nice, smooth finish from them. Pledge Wipe n' Shine can be brushed on or airbrushed (better) and is easy to get good results with.

^ Tamiya spray paints are very expensive. IIRC they go for around P400 (at least) for a small can. I would recommend using the Bosny/RJ London spray cans. They're cheaper at around P100 to P130 for a pretty big can so they are good to use for practice. It's harder to get smooth topcoats with them but automotive paints are tougher than Tamiya sprays and they're okay for just priming or doing basic basecoats.

A guide on using paint brushes? Err.. probably not that specific. For painting TFs and other toys, you basically use the largest size flat brush that you comfortably can for the area that you are painting. Brush in one direction to minimize visible brush strokes. Then use the small point brushes for the small details like eyes, wires, and panel lines. I hope that helps. :)
