the slam dunk contest was really boring; the in-game dunks during the two games were more entertaining. :-)

true. the dunks of Lebron, Blake and Igouadala were far more superior than the lame dunk contest last Saturday. oh well, screw the All Star weekend. Afterall, it's just a glorified exhibition game.

On to more interesting stuff: the trade deadline is coming this March 15. Will D-12 get moved? Are the Lakers breaking their core? Is Minny initiating a huge trade? is it true that Rasheed is coming back? the next 2 weeks will be good.

Kobe Bryant breaks record, nose
http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylt=Ap...._allstar_022712

Quote:
“I did say foul [Bryant] because last week he missed two crucial free throws against Dallas,” Pierce said. “That’s not normal for him.” Bryant challenged Pierce to bet on the free throws. Pierce declined but didn’t stop talking. After Bryant made the first free throw, he barked at Pierce again. Pierce barked back. Bryant missed the second foul shot and Pierce quickly responded by shouting, “I told you. I told you. I told you he was going to miss one.”

Bryant’s miss left the West clinging to a two-point lead with 18.1 seconds left, and the East called timeout. When the teams returned to the court, Bryant started yapping at LeBron James. James passed to Deron Williams, who missed a 3-pointer then threw the rebound back to James. Bryant screamed at him to shoot, but James instead threw away a pass.

If there's one player i don't like trash talking.. it's Pierce. I do enjoy Michael Jordan and John Starks trash-talking. Add Reggie Miller too.. It's fine. But Pierce? he's irritating for me. Somehow i think no matter what Pierce is saying, at the back of his head he might have this envy of Kobe's success in the league..

I don't know if it's Wade's hard foul is really necessary. Or Wade just picked a wrong time to send a statement..

^I agree with all of his choices except Jeremy Lin. Lin has been sensational, but I think the more deserving choice of MIP (at least at this point) is Kyle Lowry.

^^i agree, isn't there a minimum requirement for MIP? i think that's stretching the hype too hard.

nice games earlier by the way.

Lakers are too hot to handle, Heat went meltdown...
Masked Mamba going 3-0 while Heat now for 0-2. If the Lakers plays like this everytime, they can beat almost anybody. What a surge from World Peace on both ends of the floor. Pau & D-Fish getting more physical and Drew is taking it to the hole by force.

Wade got fouled out in 4th with 5 mins left chaining from 3 fouls in succession. Though the Heat's loss, i give props to Chalmers' solid play and James balanced stats plus post-defense against Gasol. But still Kobe had a magnificent night starting early in the 1st qtr with 8-10 shooting. Shane Battier defend him well yet shots still sinking it.

Just raised my eyebrows when Wade's was getting 3 fouls in rapid succession. I was like "Hey Coach Spo, bring out Wade for a while!". I don't know if Spo took risk by letting Wade stay just to catch up to Lakers' lead or Spo wasn't aware fully that Wade's getting foul troubles.. There's another play that even commentators got surprised before Wade fouled out. James run the clock too much.. 44 secs running and what? James & Co. is burning the clock? That's too much time waste..

^haha maybe it's wade's way of apologizing to kobe :))

Heat fan & wade fan here, rooting alos for LBK to win the mvp awards. But I don't mind seeing the lakers win as well, in fact I love to see Lakers vs Heat in the finals cause I'm a fan of kobe's shoes,so more wins more new shoes. Now you can easily imagine the upset dallas gave me last season :P

I agree. Kyle Lowry is also in my list for MIP.

That's the impressive feature of LBJ having the skill of playing multiple positions.
The game was physical especially between LBJ and Pau Gasol.
The game also revealed one of the Heat's weakness... they don't have a Center, which is why the Laker's bigs were doing much damage inside the paint.
If Dwight Howard is eager to get a ring... he should join the Heat.
BTW, what happened to Chris Bosh? Why did he not play? The Heat was undermanned.

^^Bosh is attending his grandma's funeral, he could have been a big help but it's really difficult to win against a couple of talented 7 footers and the Masked Mamba's shots falling.

The Heat are too small in this game. There is no way the Lakers should lose. And Fisher has to go.

Playing for the Clippers made Baron Davis dislike basketball
http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nba-ball-d....cgHOgAk4Q28vLYF

and i thought Dan Gilbert is the only "Marked Man" among NBA Team Owners... Heck the Clippers Owner is the worst of them all... If i have a team owner like that, I should buyout my contract and go somewhere else..
