G.I. Joe Collectors' Club 25th/ME Footloose
« Thread Started on Sept 23, 2012, 5:48pm »

Footloose is one of the more quirkier Joes among their ranks. Gifted physically and mentally, he suddenly dropped out of college, did some soul searching and after several years joined the military. From the looks of it, he found his niche with G.I. Joe and hopefully he stays with them.

In the modern era, Footloose was released as part of a Toys R Us exclusive 5-pack in which I did a review a few years back. Sadly that version was not show and comic accurate. Now, G.I. Joe Collectors' Club or GIJCChas a more comic and show accurate figure as their loose bagged freebie 2012 membership figure or as a carded 2012 Joecon exclusive.

IN THE PACKAGE:

White Mailer Box:

Signing up or renewing your club membership on or before March 16, 2012 and you'll be getting him in this white mailer box. Unlike last year's Dialtone, there are no markings and logo that this is from GIJCC except for their address.

Carded:

If you happen to be in the 2012 Joecon, this is how Footloose is packaged:

Initially I only wanted the loose bagged figure but when the carded one was available at Joe Con SRP courtesy of the mizzus, I changed my tune.

OUT OF THE PACKAGE:

He came bagged and unlike Dialtone, the bag doesn't have Footloose printed on it.

He comes with a rifle, pistol, backpack with straps, knife, helmet, flashlight and stand.

One thing I liked about the bagged version is that the filecard is pre-cut.

Footloose:

Compared to last year's Dialtone, he is more articulated thanks to those wrist joints. Paint apps are top notch. My only non bearing minor gripe is his headsculpt is basically a repaint of the 2011 Joe Con Capt. Claymore with the Tom Selleck/Burt Reynolds look with the porn star stache! But he still looks so d**n good!

All Geared Up;

Those backpack straps are nifty in holding gear.

Porn Stars:

What is up with these club figures and the staches!?...I won't be surprised if next year's Iceberg has that same stache as well. [image]

Comparison with Rise of Cobra Footloose:

Headswap:

Sadly the ROC Footloose's head sits too high and too small for his helmet...

All I can say, no regrets!

PROS:

1. Well painted
2. Well accesorized
3. Well articulated
4. More show and comic accurate
5. Porn star stache...again!

CONS:

1. A pain to acquire

I rate this:

DON'T EVER TRUST ZARTAN!
He hides under the President's skin for protection, self-benefit and to hide his dark side.

Cheapest on ebay is 4k! I'd envy the guy who'd army build this soul-searcher.

Thanks for the comparison shots with roc footloose.
